Day 12: Tokyo

Captain's log supplemental.

We found a few short video clips that we took during AJ and Ai-chan's wedding that we forgot to post. They're just a few seconds each, but they'll give some idea what was going on.

Entering the jinja for the wedding ceremony:

Entering the reception:

Ceremonial opening of a sake barrel:

We also found a picture of the nihonshu (sake) that we picked up in Nikko. We were told this one won a competition for best nihonshu in Japan the past two years.

We were on our own today so it was a chance to catch up on chores and shopping. We picked up a tetsubin for ourselves today, which is a traditional cast iron tea kettle. These are historically used in Japanese tea ceremony.
